Grandma's mother died with Grandma was very young (I don't know how young). Her father, "Big John" Cooper remarried. He married a woman named Ethyl. I haven't researched carefully enough to know which is which. If his first wife is "Elizabeth", then a daughter named "Bessie" might make sense - a nickname for Elizabeth.
