No Place Like (the Hayden) Home

Old Kuttawa Home
Several weeks ago, someone posted a picture of the Hayden family on Facebook (Randy Armstrong).  Our cousin, Clyde Shelley, messaged me about the picture and while I thought I had a better copy of the picture that had been posted, I hadn't found it until today.

On the FB post, Sally Whittington identified the house as one that is still standing in Old Kuttawa.  And here, posed in front of the house in about 1909, are our Hayden family members.  This photo was featured in a newspaper article years later, identifying each person.

Here are Pete Cannon's notes:

A copy of a newspaper article identifying our family:

To bring the significance of this photograph a little closer to home, I took the names from the newspaper article and cut a digital snip of the photo that shows the folks most closely related to us (the Denney Girls). Names and faces to know:  Our great-great grandfather, William Edward Hayden, Sr.; great grandfather, Ed Hayden; great grandmother, Mary Isabelle "Mayme" Hayden; our grandmother, Mary Rowena Dunn, and great uncle Fred and great aunt Johnnie.

Many thanks to Pete Cannon for years ago scanning and saving our family's photographs and then sharing them with Mama.
